The former Governor of central bank, Prof.
Charles Soludo has expressed his opinion concerning the coming Anambra
gubernatorial election.
Soludo, who is also a former governorship
candidate of the state opined that the incumbent governor, Willie Obiano would
sweep the November 18 polls by a wide margin.
He made his stance known on Channels' Politics
Today on Wednesday, saying the incumbent will get over 80% of the total votes.
The ex-CBN governor said "if Obiano gets
less than 80% votes, we will be surprised."
It should be noted that the election would be
contested by 37 political parties, which include Oseloka Obaze and Tony Nwoye
of PDP and APC respectively.
Soludo however belittled the opposing candidates,
saying they stand no chance of winning the election.
He said, "All those you call heavy weights,
I'm sure would get less than 10% of the votes"
Soludo contested the 2010 Anambra State
gubernatorial election on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but
lost to former Governor Peter Obi of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
It should also be noted that Anambra is the only
state controlled by All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA).
