Willie Obiano of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, has won the 2017 governorship election in Anambra State.
Going by the results of the Governorship election so far announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, it is clear that the incumbent has been re-elected governor of Anambra State, as leads other contenders by wide margin.
Of the 21 Local Government Areas of the state, results of 18 Local Government Areas have been submitted, out of which Obiano is comfortably leading in all the LGAs.
Meanwhile, despite awaiting formal declaration of the winner by INEC, candidate of United Progressives Party, UPP, Osita Chidoka has congratulated the governor and his deputy, Nkem Okeke on their victory in the election.
The former aviation minister posted on his twitter handle, @osita_chidoka
, "I congratulated Nkem Okeke, Deputy Governor Anambra State for their election victory. I couldn't reach Gov. Willy Obiano"
We are yet to get any pronouncement nor reaction from other candidates at the time of filing this report.
